Haven’t post for 2 weeks because of traveling to Satun province in the southern region of Thailand and, of course, today i’m gona express my experience about my trip to one of the most famous island of Satun called “Ko Lipe“.
Starting my trip from the Southern Bangkok Terminal Station as my coach departed from the station around 18.30 and the distance between Bangkok to Satun is approximately 14 hours. Oh i almost forget, the ticket price from Bangkok to Satun is 690 baht per person. After long distance over the night, I arrived at Satun province around 8.30 in the mouning and waiting for the speed boad to Koh Lipe at Pak Bara Pier. Please note that the speed boat to Koh Lipe will depart from Pak Bara Pier to Koh Lipe at 11.30 daily. Around 13.30, the speed boat arrived at “Pattaya Beach” which is the city center and most famous beach of Koh Lipe.
From this point, you have to take long tail boat to bring you to your hotel in any beach of Koh Lipe as the rate for long tail boat is 50 baht. My hotel named “Mountain Resort”situated on the other side of Pattaya Beach as this place is only 10 minutes from the city center of Koh Lipe if travellig by long tail boat. One thing that you should remind is all speed boat will only carry you to the port of Pattaya Beach, after that you must hire for long tail boat to transfer you to your resort.
”This Place is Wonderful” is the first impression when i arrived at Mountain Resort. Due to this resort has its own privacy fantastic seaside together with incredible emerald sea color (as you can see from the image), now, i feel really relax and comfortable. In general, some travellers also named the privacy beach of mountain resort as “Sunset Beach” where you can discover romantic scenery of sunset in the evening.
Currently, the room rate for Mountain Resort is affordable if compared to other Koh Lipe resorts and hotels as the rate for VIP room is 2,200 baht per night, however, i can bargain for further discount from the manager of this hotel, so, i can book my VIP room at the price of only 2,000 baht per night. There’re cable TV, air conditioner, refrigerator and many facilities are also available in your room. As indicated in its name, Mountain Resort situated in the hill where you can see gorgerous scenery of emerald sea color from your room, moreover, this hilly resort is also safe for the risk of Tsunami Wave as well.
From Mountain Resort, you can easily walk to the Pattaya Beach where you can discover night life sensation of Koh Lipe. Unfortunately, i feel really tried from my long journey from Bangkok to this island and i need to take a little break in my room for a while and i plan to go to the Pattaya Beach in the evening.
Tips When you arrived at Satun or Koh Lipe , you can’t miss to taste delicious Roti (Thai style pancake) together with “Kopi” coffee (local coffee blend in the southern region of Thailand)
